About Our Fresh Spring Rolls
At Mekong Restaurant, we take pride in our authentic preparation of Fresh Spring Rolls. Unlike many
restaurants that use egg roll wrappers as a shortcut, we use genuine Vietnamese rice paper, which provides
the delicate, slightly chewy texture that authentic spring rolls should have. This translucent wrapper
allows you to see the beautiful colors of the fresh ingredients inside, making each roll as visually
appealing as it is delicious.
The Art of Rolling
Each spring roll is carefully hand-wrapped to order, ensuring maximum freshness. We start by softening
the rice paper just enough to make it pliable, then layer in the ingredients: cooked shrimp or tender
sliced pork, rice vermicelli for substance, crisp lettuce for crunch, julienned cucumber and carrots for
sweetness, and a generous amount of fresh herbs. The result is a perfect cylinder that balances all these
flavors and textures in every bite.
Our Signature Peanut Sauce
The spring rolls are served with our house-made peanut sauce (tương đậu phộng), a rich, creamy blend of
roasted peanuts, hoisin sauce, and aromatic spices. This sauce complements the fresh, light flavors of
the rolls perfectly, adding richness and depth. Some customers enjoy dipping each bite, while others
prefer drizzling the sauce over the rolls - either way, it's a perfect pairing.
